CHENNAI: The inter-venue betting at the Madras Race Club (MRC) is set to commence from Wednesday. The tote betting counters located at the first enclosure of the club will be operational for the members and racing patrons of MRC from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.
“To start with, the inter-venue betting will be operational for the races run at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mysuru. The dividends for each race day will be distributed the day after the races at the same counters where the ticket sales take place,” an MRC official told TOI on Tuesday.
Standard operating procedures such as temperature checking at entry points, wearing masks, and social distancing will be followed when patrons arrive for purchasing the tickets.
“Once the ticket is bought, the patrons will have to leave the premises to avoid crowding at the enclosure. No one will be permitted to stay at the counter beyond 12.30 pm. Only the horse owners and other officials will be permitted at the club premises on race days,” said the official.
The following are the race days at different centers this month: Chennai: Nov. 12, 19, and 26. Bengaluru: Nov. 14, 21, and 28. Mysuru: Nov 11, 18, and 25. Hyderabad: Nov. 19, 23, and 29.
