CHENNAI: Test match action will return to Chennai with two Test matches against England in February and March. BCCI has planned to have two more Tests in the new Ahmedabad stadium.
Chennai has not hosted a Test since 2016 when India beat England in the fifth test right after cyclone Vardah.
The decision will be soon communicated to the associations. Both India and England will stay in Chennai for close to three weeks. The lesser number of Covid-19 cases in the city went a long way in Chennai getting these two Tests.
The TNCA will look to prepare sporting wickets which last for five days and it will be a challenge keeping in mind that two Tests will take place back to back.
But BCCI believes TNCA and Ahmedabad have enough resources to pull this off. England will also play tree ODIs and 5 T20s during the series.
