Traffic restrictions announced in Chennai for 2 years

According to a formal announcement, the new traffic arrangements will go into effect on Saturday, January 21. They will remain in effect until January 20, 2025, to make it easier for vehicles to travel through and around the Ganesapuram Railway Under Pass.
Check out the 2-year traffic restriction in Chennai which has come into effect from January 21 –
- The notification has said that the movement of all types of heavy vehicles, MTC buses, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers will be restricted from the junction of Dr. Ambedkar College Road – MPM Street towards the Ganesapuram Railway underpass.
- Vehicles coming from the Vyasarpadi side towards the Ganesapuram Railway underpass will be diverted at Dr. Ambedhkar College Road – MPM Street and will have to take an alternate route of MPM Street- Stephenson Lane- Ganesapuram – Dr. Ambedhkar College Road junction– to reach Ganesapuram Railway underpass.
- Vehicles coming from Pulianthope side towards Dr. Ambedhkar College Road – MPM Street junction will be diverted at Dr. Ambedhkar College Road -Ganesapuram junction and will take an alternate route of Stephenson Lane- MPM Street Junction – MPM Street – MPM Street – Dr. Ambedhkar College Road junction to reach to their destination, the release stated.
The city police have asked people to cooperate with the officials and follow the diversions in order to reach the destination in time and avoid any unnecessary congestion on the roads.
