CHENNAI: Greater Chennai Corporation will upgrade medical infrastructure at a cost of 16 crore to address issues on Covid-19 side-effects. In a council resolution, the corporation said they needed to build resilient healthcare services as per the ICMR guidelines to tackle Covid-19.
“There is a huge risk of secondary infections such as invasive mucormycosis, hepatitis and nosocomial infections. Equipment, kits and consumables for the Covid-19 management needs to be procured,” the civic body said.
The corporation has followed World Bank Procurement guidelines under provision of emergency Covid-19 care and has sought the government to provide adequate funds for operations and maintenance annually through budgetary allocations.
